Just Shut Up
Ok, so uhmmmmm, anyone who knows me or knows this ministry will tell you that one of our core values is unity amongst the body of Christ. Typically, many would say that deals with race relations in the church, and that is partially correct. I hate prejudice, I hate racism, I hate the power of a lack of pigmentation or a great tan to divide people. That's established, but that's not it. I hate division period. I hate denominational divisions, I hate theological divisions, I hate division math problems...........I'm joking on the last one. So allow me to address something that I noticed almost a year ago, paid it no mind, but now I have to say something. In my travels, I encounter a lot of people. As of late, I have encountered people who want to question me, not so much about the word of God, but more about certain pastor's, preacher's or ministries. Some of you have even emailed me questions about certain preacher's or ministries. I have answered questions, but for the most part, I have stayed away from all of the MESS. Cause that's what it is. On our website, we had a message board. I would check the board from time to time. I enjoyed some of the conversations, there where prayer request, people discussing the word, it was cool. Last night, my web guy calls me and tells me to check out the message board. So, I'm scanning the latest post, and its a verbal battle. There's name calling, there's scripture being tossed around, there's bashing of preacher's, there's mocking of various ministries, and I can not allow that. I'm not a mad person, but to say I was ticked off last night was an understatement. Christians beefing with each other like it's a rap war. Are you kidding me? Whether you believe in tongues, don't believe in tongues, believe in healing, don't believe in healing, believe in prosperity, don't believe in prosperity, WHO CARES? Now some may ask, Tre, how can you say that? Easy, it is not worth FIGHTING over. Last time I checked we are called Christians. Notice the root word in Christian, CHRIST. None of that other theological stuff is the base of what makes a Christian a Christian. I don't care what you think, if you believe Christ came, Christ Died, Christ rose, and you have accepted him as Lord of your life, we are family. Let's be real, if I put down this pastor, call that pastor names, call that church an occult, and playfully mock this artist by calling him the "It's Your Birthday Guy" Ha Ha, how many people are going to be drawn to Christ by that MESS? Stop with the comments on YouTube, quit with the bickering on the message boards and just shut up. If you do not agree with a pastor or a certain theology, then you do not listen to it. You think someone missed it, pray for them. I don't even care about your theology degrees or your seminary training, there is not enough education that allows you to put your mouth on another individual. God has not called anyone to judge. He's the only, he doesn't need our help. Love ya
You're the Best
What's up FAM,
We have been sending you guys so much stuff, as of late, but this was something that I had to share. Tonight, I had some friends who decided that they wanted to take me out, kind of like a going away bit or something. So, we go out and I bring my god son(4years old) along. We are like thirty deep in this group. So, I'm going around and speaking to everyone, even flashing a picture or two. Finally, we sit down and someone begins to ask me about music and what is going on. As she keeps asking questions, my god son blurts out, "Tre's the best". The lady sitting across from us ask, "He is?" He said, "Yeah, he be on the stage and people be putting they hands up, and they be clapping too". Then he asks me for my iphone, and asks me to go to my album. He presses play and passes her my phone and says "See, that's him, he's the best". A waitress is listening and she asks him, what is he talking about? He points at me and says, "Him, he's the best, he do music". I looked at him and I said, "Ok, guy, chill out" and he looked at me and said, "You're my favorite". It made me feel like a million bucks, while he's saying these things, I'm trying to keep this kool-aid smile off my face. We have articles written about me and there are people who say "Great job!". But it was different when it came from him tonight. As we left, he asked for ice cream. What kind do you want? He said, "I want the ones with the stuff in it" (Coldstone). Now, for those of you who are not from Birmingham, I was at the Summit, and the closest Coldstone is in Alabaster. That is 24.6 miles away exactly. But we went. Then we stopped in Wal-Mart and, well, whatever he asked for I bought. Little overboard, maybe. But I began to think about my relationship with God, and my prayer life, my praise, my worship. God, knows who he is, God knows that he is good, but there is something special about me saying You're my favorite, You're the best, that drives God to bless. The boy could have asked me for a car and probably got it. It's that display of genuine love or adoration that motivates or drives you to say "What do ya want?" God is no different. Your praise, your worship, your genuine love for God drives God to say "I got you, what else can I do for you?" I heard TI say once(stay with me), "A woman who genuinly loves me will get everything, a woman who just asks for everything will get nothing." As it relates to God, that goes for man, woman, boy, girl, whoever. To seek that heart of God, more than just his hand. God, seeks to bless you, but he has no desire to be used. A true heart for worship. Make God smile. Make sure that God knows He's your favorite. Tell him, He's the best.
