Be Strong and Courageous???

I'm reading Joshua 1 earlier, and the phrase “Be strong and courageous” is repeated several times through the passage. Now, I am quite familiar with the story of Joshua and all that he accomplishes in his life. But if I were to read the passage as a novice, and see all the other stuff God is saying to Joshua, I would ask why does God keep saying “Be strong and courageous”??? I mean, God is promising Joshua this land and telling him how they will conquer the people, so this should be a piece of cake, right??? This should be EASY, like taking candy from a baby. And let’s be honest, who needs courage to snatch candy from an infant??? It’s going to be easy, because Joshua has a promise right?.? It’s a trip because, I have read through the word and seen the promises of God, I have receive prophesies about the things that God is going to do in my life. I have been led by the spirit concerning certain roads to travel and moves to make. I have gotten my word from God, BUT I have come to realize that because there’s a promise there will be a trial. The word from God is not the absence of an obstacle or problem, but promise of victory in the situation. Mark it down, you will face trials and obstacles. Jesus said it, I just retyped it. The enemy is using the obstacle to keep you from the promise, but God has given you the promise to overcome the obstacle. Which one has your focus??? Be strong and courageous. Courageous, root word courage, the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty or danger without fear. Better word, faith. Faith in a God who loves me and will take care of me. Faith in who he is and what he says. Because he said it, it will be. Who cares what it looks like? Looks can be deceiving. Our responsibility is to be hold fast to the promise. BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. Be Blessed
