Hopeless

Hopeless
So, today there was a program at a local high school. The speakers where two local DJ’s from a hip-hop station, a police officer and a guy from prison via satellite. The guy from prison is serving 52 years for various offenses. The point of the program was to speak to the young people about choices and making wise decisions. First off, this was a tough crowd. The kids didn’t seem to really hear or care to hear what any of the speakers where saying. So, there’s a Q&A portion. This young lady stands up and asked the police officer, “Why do y’all be harrassin drug dealers, when all they be doing is tryin’ to support they families?” {applause}. Hold up, let me explain that a little better. It was an uproar of approval, clapping and cheering. REALLY?!? Our youth has it soooooooooooo twisted. There’s a lot of work to be done, but I’m up for it. I had someone say to me, “Tre, the youth of today are hopeless. Don’t waste your time”. I don’t see it that way. The work is great, but so are the rewards. Some would look at today, and see a lost cause. I see a great opportunity for God to show out.
