I wanna know what love is, I want you to show me. I've always found that song kind of corny and maybe a little whiny. Once I was asked to read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, and substitute the word “Jesus” for “love.” It made a lot of sense to say, “Jesus is patient, Jesus is kind; Jesus does not envy; Jesus does not parade Himself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek His own . . . . Jesus never fails.”
Then I was told to replace love with my name. Really Dude??? So I began to say, “Trey is patient, Trey is kind; Trey does not envy; Trey does not parade Himself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek His own . . . . Trey never fails.”
So then the next question is.....Am I??? It's so easy to place the attributes of love with Jesus, but do I possess or exemplify ALL those attributes to EVERYONE??? Not a select few that I find it easy to love, but especially those that make it so hard to love them. To be Christian is more about living and acting as Christ and not just talking about him.
